Russian Maritime Register of Shipping Approves Special Technical Requirements to the Sailing Ship Poltava

Historical shipyard involved in constructing Poltava underwent RS survey for wooden vessel construction and design engineering activities.
The Russian Maritime Register of Shipping approved special technical specifications to construction of berth-connected museum ship-of- the-line Poltava; these specifications are to be used as a regulatory document for technical surveying during the whole ship life cycle, according to the press-office of the RS.

On 30 January 2018 Konstantin Palnikov, the RS Director General, handed the approved document over to Andrey Groshikov, the shipyard Poltava Director General.

The specifications were prepared by Maritime Mechanical Projects JSC for the historical shipyard Poltava involved in construction of the ship. The first full-size Baltic Fleet's open-sea ship-of- the-line will become a core of the modern museum complex dedicated to the maritime history of St. Petersburg and Russia.

The RS participates in this project since 2014. The historical shipyard has been surveyed by the RS for wooden vessel construction and design engineering activities.
