Krylov State Research Centre – a traditional organizer of International Conference "Russian Shipbuilding"

Krylov State Research Centre traditionally became one of the organizers of International Conference "Russian Shipbuilding" that was held in Saint Petersburg on April 9 - 10, 2015 with the support of Shipbuilders’ Association of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region, the Russian Chamber of Shipping and Maritime Council of St. Petersburg Government. The participants have discussed the current state and trends of global and Russian shipbuilding industry, have looked into the prospects of various sectors of national shipbuilding market, and have reviewed the trends of modern ship design and shipboard equipment.
Acting Director of the RF Minpromtorg Department of Shipbuilding Industry and Marine Engineering Boris Kabakov in his address named shelf development, Arctic shipping and regional passenger/cargo transportation as the key priorities of the industry.

Krylov State Research Centre presented two papers, namely:
  • "Challenges and prospects to be faced in localizing production of marine drilling facilities for Russian Arctic Shelf" (Vladimir Tarovik);
  •  
  • "Capabilities of new ice basin for the benefit of national and foreign oil-gas and shipping companies" (Alexei Dobrodeev).

On April 10, as part of "Russian Shipbuilding" Conference business program, the participants of the event have visited KSRC for a tour around the main experimental facilities including the new ice basin and training & simulation complex.
