On 28 May, Okskaya Sudoverf, Navashino, laid a keel of the fifth combined river-sea platform tanker of Volgo-Don-Max class (Type RST54) with deadweight of 5600 t
The designer is the Marine Engineering Bureau. As of 1 May 2014, the degree of completion of the vessels was the following:
  • lead vessel: 42 percent
  • second vessel: 33 percent
  • third vessel: 26 percent

The main feature of the new concept is using innovative technologies to provide new opportunities in nearly crisis situations for inland water transport. In other words, the carrying capacity is increased by complying actual travel conditions (maximum possible length and beam) and thanks to the extremely full contours not used in the world practice before.
