During the meeting on the social and economic development of the Arkhangelsk Region chaired by the Russian president Vladimir Putin, Vladimir Nikitin, director of Zvyozdochka Shiprepair Centre, declared that the company is ready to replace foreign thrusters with domestic ones.
According to the shorthand report of the meeting, the Centre mastered the manufacture of mechanical thrusters. In future, electrical thrusters are planned to be manufactured. Under the Federal Target Programmes on re-equipment, the Centre performs construction of special assembly and test benches for complicated propeller-rudder systems. In future, the local content is supposed to be 70 per cent and more.
