On 14 March 2014, Yantar Shipyard, Kaliningrad (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) launched the first Admiral Grigorovich frigate of Type 11356. The ship is being built for the Black Sea Fleet. The patrol ship is designed for combat operations in ocean and sea areas against enemy surface ships and submarines, meeting attacks of air weapons both independently and as part of escort ships.
On 10 March, the Baltika multipurpose rescue vessel sailed for sea acceptance trials. The Baltika is a multipurpose vessel of 7 MW capable of rescue duties for oil spill response (OSR). The ship is also designed for diving operations, including maintenance of submarine pipelines. She was launched on 12 December 2013 by Arctech Helsinki shipyard (a joint venture of the United Shipbuilding Corporation).

On April 2014, they will install a deep diving system GVK-450 on board the Igor Belousov ship being built by Admiralty Shipyard. In total, on board the rescue vessel, they will install about 60 assemblies and GVK-450 units, including pressure chambers and a deep diving bell. In June, they are going to start preliminary and interdepartmental tests of the GVK-450 unit. The tests will be conducted in the Baltic sea during the harbour and sea acceptance trials of the Igor Belousov ship.

Pella Shipyard launched a tug (Type PE-65, serial No. 506). Within the year, the vessel will be delivered to the State Customer, the Russian Navy. Then it will be included into the Northern Fleet of Russia.

Igor Sechin, the Head of Rosneft oil company was chosen a Chairman of the Board of the Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Shiprepair Centre. The appropriate decision was adopted at the extraordinary joint shareholders’ meeting held on 7 March 2014. Earlier, they wanted to deliver the Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Centre to the consortium of investors headed by Rosneft oil company.

The stern of the first Russian amphibious assault ship of Mistral class, Sevastopol, will be launched this summer. It is being built on the slipway A of the Baltic Shipyard with participation of the DCNS contracting company, France. The work is conducted in compliance with the schedule. According to the USC data, towing the stern to France is scheduled for 8 July. Meanwhile, the Sevastopol bow is being built at the shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.

The Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA) has published the list of Significant Ships of 2013. The SVL Liberty and Almetyevsk tankers designed by Marine Engineering Bureau (Types RST27 and RST25) were included into the fifty vessels of various purpose, type and size (from cruise liners to supertankers) selected by RINA. The SVL Liberty tanker with sea/river deadweight 7041 t/5439 t was built in 2013 by Kherson Shipyard. It is the lead tanker of the three serial ships. The Almetyevsk tanker with sea/river deadweight 6610 t/5130 t was built in 2013 by Gorky Zelenodolsk Shipbuilding Plant. It is the lead tanker of the two serial ships.

On 12 March, the ZNT Yard, Nizhny Novgorod, laid a keel of the tenth serial inshore boat for integrated search-and-rescue support of Type 23040 for the Russian Ministry of Defence.

Yantar Shipyard completed repair of the largest assault landing air-cushion craft Yevgeny Kocheskov. According to the latest data, the ship has been delivered to the permanent base in Baltiysk. The Kaliningrad shipbuilders repaired the propulsion system of the ship, modernised its hull and other equipment. In addition, they installed a new flexible seal on the so-called ship skirt to create an air cushion. Immediately upon arrival in Baltiysk, the crew of Yevgeny Kocheskov commenced training parts that do not require sailing.

On 11 March 2014, the Stoiky corvette of Type 20380 started its state sea trials. Within a very short time, the crew and trial team are to approve the ship specifications. During the forthcoming sailing, they will check speed and manoeuvrability of the ship as well as a number of combat and engineering systems.

The Ministry of Defence of Indonesia declined to buy the used Russian submarines of Type 877 Paltus classified by NATO as Kilo. They decided to reject this proposal after the Indonesian Navy delegation checked the condition of the Russian ships. According to Marsetio, the test results showed that the submarines offered to the Navy representatives had been on the berth for no less than two years, and their propulsion systems are damaged. As reported by the military experts, it will cost a lot of money to repair the ships.
