Week 28th (9th-13th of July)
Lithuanian Shipyard Western Baltija Shipbuilding put into operation lead multipurpose dry cargo barge “Ptich”, deadweight of 6100 tons, DCB23 project. The barge was designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau to the class КE (*) R2 РС. The hull is reinforced in accordance with the requirements of the Registry of Shipping according to the ice category Ice2. Sea deadweight is 6100 t. Ballast draft – 3.25 m. Length – 99.98 m, freeboard depth– 8.00 m. Capacity of cargo tanks is 9800 cub. m.

A “sideway moving” icebreaker of the Finnish project Р-70202 was laid down at Baltic shipyard “Yantar”. The vessel is able to move in the level ice, the thickness of which is one meter, and will be able to run a channel with the width of 50 meters in the “sideway moving” mode. The Customer is RosMorRechFlot.

Week 26th (25th–29th of June)
Almaz Shipbuilding Company signed a completion certificate for the first serial ship of a new generation of 22460 project, serial number 502, “Brilliant” for the Border Guard of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation. The border guard ship of 22460 project is designed by the Northern Design Bureau (St. Petersburg) and is intended to protect the state boundaries and territorial sea, as well as for counterterrorism and anti-piracy campaigns. Ship displacement is 630 tons, speed – 30 knots, endurance – 3,500 miles, self-sustaining period – 30 days, length – 62.5 meters. The ship is equipped with the most modern navigation and communication aids, has a helicopter onboard, and ship automation system. In 2012, JSC Almaz Shipbuilding Company transferred to the Border Guard of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation two border boats of 12,200 project “Sobol”, serial numbers 213, 214, and continues to build the second serial ship of 22460 project, serial number 503, “Zhemchug”, according to the press-release of the shipbuilding company.

Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov signed an order to transfer to St. Petersburg’s ownership the ground area for the construction of the New Admiralty Shipyard. The right of St. Petersburg’s ownership for these objects emerges from the moment of its state registration. A high-technology enterprise to build vessels with deadweight up to 200,000 tons will be located on the island.

Concerning World and Marine Industry
A week ago on the 23–25th of May in Moscow Gostiny Dvor regular international forum “Marine Industry of Russia – 2012” being the third in succession was held. I visited the first such event in 2010, missed forum in 2011 and spent the first two days in the exhibit this year. We agreed with PR Department of holders about that they provided for us with their materials about performed works for publication, but in a week when I have not received a response from that party, I have state my impressions about observed, until they become irrelevant.

The first sailing of Indian aircraft carrier “Vikramaditya” (formerly “Admiral Gorshkov”) being rebuilt in Severodvinsk was deferred from May 25th to June 8th. “This day, the aircraft carrier shall leave the wall of “Sevmash” and put to the White Sea through the Nikolsky Estuary, where it will start factory sea trials”, – said the agency’s interlocutor.

Week 21 (May 21–25)
Over 70 reactors from decommissioned nuclear submarines are intended for disposal in Primorie till 2020. 54 reactors are already in Primorie and 19 more will be delivered from Kamchatka. Their preparation for long-term storage will be performed using facilities provided by Japan to Russia: sea tugboat “Sumire”, two gantry cranes, 10- and 30-ton lifting capacity, and 3500 DWT floating drydock “Sakura”. Over the last 20 years, Japan has participated in international programs for disposal of nuclear submarines in the Pacific region.
