The first sailing of Indian aircraft carrier “Vikramaditya” (formerly “Admiral Gorshkov”) being rebuilt in Severodvinsk was deferred from May 25^th to June 8^th. “This day, the aircraft carrier shall leave the wall of “Sevmash” and put to the White Sea through the Nikolsky Estuary, where it will start factory sea trials”, – said the agency’s interlocutor.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation did not manage to agree with the United Shipbuilding Corporation about reducing construction costs of the nuclear-power submarines of 955 “Borey” project. The Ministry had its goal to reduce the ship price by 30 percent to 87 billion rubles, and United Shipbuilding Corporation insisted on increasing the contract value by five percent to 130 billion rubles, explaining this with unscheduled expenses.

Diesel submarine Kaluga (project 877, code “Paltus”, according to the classification of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization – “Kilo”) – the first for the last twenty years submarine of 877 project, at which medium repair and modernization works had been carried out, was taken out of the building slipway at Shipbuilding Center “Zvezdochka”. Diesel submarine Kaluga will be transferred to the Navy at the end of 2012, after which the ship will operate for the next ten years.

Leading border frigate Okean of the 1^st range was laid at “Zelenodolsk Plant Named after A.M. Gorky” for the Border Service of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation. Border frigates of this type shall replace border frigates of 11351 and 97P projects.

A corvette of 20380 project “Stoyky” was launched at “Severnaya Verf” in the presence of the Commander-In-Chief of the Navy. The corvette of 20380 project is designed by DB “Almaz”. Today, “Severnaya Verf” is the only enterprise revived serial construction of surface combat ships.

Shipyard “Severnaya Verf” received an order from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation for construction of four corvettes of 20385 project. Corvette “Gremyashchy” will become the first corvette of the project.

The fourth tanker of RST27 project “V.F. Tanker-4” built for shipping company “Volga-Balt-Tanker” is passing mooring trials at plant “Red Sormovo”. The tanker meets the dimensions of the Volga-Don Canal and Volga-Baltic Way. Length – 140.85 m, hull height – 6 m. Capacity of 6 cargo tanks and 2 slop tanks - 8100 cub. m, deadweight at sea - 6980 tons with draft of 4.2 m.

The United Shipbuilding Corporation and the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation signed a contract for delivery to the Navy of five missile-carrying nuclear submarines of 955А project of “Borey” class. In total, it is planned to build eight such vessels up to 2017.

The second vessel of RST27 project “V.F. Tanker – 12” was launched at Oka Shipyard for shipping company “V.F. Tanker”. The tanker is designed for transporting crude oil and oil products without limiting flash temperature. Project RST27 is designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau. Length - 140.85 m, width – 16.6 m, depth – 6.0 m. It belongs to tankers of “Volgo-Don max” class.
