Over 70 reactors from decommissioned nuclear submarines are intended for disposal in Primorie till 2020. 54 reactors are already in Primorie and 19 more will be delivered from Kamchatka. Their preparation for long-term storage will be performed using facilities provided by Japan to Russia: sea tugboat “Sumire”, two gantry cranes, 10- and 30-ton lifting capacity, and 3500 DWT floating drydock “Sakura”. Over the last 20 years, Japan has participated in international programs for disposal of nuclear submarines in the Pacific region.
Onega Shipbuilding Yard has launched the lead Project RSD49 7150 DWT multipurpose dry cargo ship. A series of these Project vessels is built by Nevsky Shipbuilding Yard; completion will be done by Onega Shipbuilding Yard. The customer is North-Western Shipping Company. Leningrad Shipyard Pella has laid down a keel for a new fishing vessel. The Norwegian vessel Gier-II designed for longline fishing was taken as the prototype. The engineering project was designed by Macduff Ship Design. Length: 47.5 m; refrigerator space: 500 m3. The vessel is built for Persey-Pella Ltd., a joint venture of Pella and Persey Ltd.
