Baku Shipyard Ltd. has completed its public registration in Azerbaijan. The incorporators are State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), Azerbaijan Investment Company and KV Enterprises B.V. (Singapore). The shipyard will produce large vessels — tankers of up to 60,000 DWT and warships.

Shtokman Development AG and United Shipbuilding Corporation have signed a cooperation agreement aimed to ensure the highest possible involvement of the Russian industry in Phase One of the Shtokman field development. According to the Parties, expansion of the Russian participation in this project will facilitate the development of present-day production facilities in Russia.

The Committee on Industry, Economy and Property of St. Petersburg Legislative of St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly has reviewed applications submitted by the management and the trade union leader of Baltiysky Zavod. The Committee has taken a decision to address the Russian government, Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Defense and pay their attention to detention of wages existing at this enterprise for several months already. Moreover, the enterprise is still waiting for the money for their sole large contract; Rosatom owes RUR 1.3 bln to the enterprise for the construction of a floating nuclear power plant.

Lawmakers have recognized the right of non-governmental organizations to provide pilotage in all Russian ports including St. Petersburg, Ust-Luga, Vysotsk, Primorsk, etc. Corresponding amendments to the existing RF Merchant Marine Code have been signed by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
