International Exercises were held on the Amur River. The exercises were arranged jointly by the rescuers of the Amur region and Marine Safety Management of the Chinese province of Heilongjiang. As it was planned, heavy-duty barge fell foul of a passenger motor vessel. The foul resulted in fire. Many people fell overboard, others remained in fire. By invitation of neighbouring side, five small-size vessels of State Inspection of Small Vehicles and EMERCOM Regional Authority, the Uman and the Albatros motor vessels, as well as the Brandmaster fire-fighting boat, were involved. In general, the crews of almost thirty vessels took part in this conventional accident.

On 17 September Yaroslavl Shipyard (VP FINSUDPROM management company) launched the SV2407 buoyage vessel named Pelikan (serial No. 154). This is the fourth of six vessels of the type constructed for the Federal Agency for Sea and River Transportation within the programme "Service Fleet Renovation". Once completely outfitted and successfully undergone harbour and sea acceptance trials, the vessel will be handed over to the owner, Belomor-Onega State Basin Authority for Waterways and Shipping (village of Povenets).

On 17 September ZNT Yard launched the first inshore boat for the integrated search-and-rescue support of ships Type 23040 built for the Russian Ministry of Defence.

On 18 September 2013 ZNT Yard and Volgo-Balt Administration signed the acceptance certificate for the buoyage vessel of Type BLV02 (serial No. 902). And thus, the State Contract for construction of two buoyage vessels of Type BLV02 was executed by ZNT Yard ahead of the contract terms by one month and a half. The vessels were delivered to the ports of registration and handed over to operating entity. The first vessel Ladozhsky was delivered to Shlisselburg for further operation as part of the fleet of the Volgo-Balt Admistration and the second vessel Buran was constructed for Belomorkanal, Petrozavodsk.

Lenmorniiproject Design Bureau is going to perform R&D works for construction of coal terminal with a cargo turnover of 20 million tons per year in the area of Otkryty cape, Primorski Krai. The customer is Vera Port. The cost of the R&D works under the contract with Lenmorniiproject is 327 million roubles.

The United Shipbuilding Corporation and Northern (Arctic) Federal University with the support of Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation entered into the agreement for developing the training programme for personnel of shipbuilding industry. As reported by press office of United Shipbuilding Corporation, the signed agreement includes not only the development and adoption of innovative educational technologies; integration of education, science and manufacturing enterprises; creation of departments, scientific and research laboratories; shared use of intellectual, material and information resources of the United Shipbuilding Corporation and Northern (Arctic) Federal University, performing joint researches in the priority area for developing shipbuilding and ship repair industry, but also great intention for cooperation with shipbuilders from different countries as well as scientific and educational institutions for developing personnel training including international programs and projects with participation of higher education institute and the United Shipbuilding Corporation.

Sea acceptance trials were run for the MB-93 tugboat (serial No. 504) of Type PE-65 built for the Russian Navy. As reported by press office of Pella Leningrad Shipbuilding Plant, the tugboat will enter the Russian Pacific Fleet this November.

As reported by the press office of Severnaya Verf (Northern Shipyard), the only one shipbuilder was registered for communicating vessels of Type 18280 to be built for the Russian Navy and the Shipyard plans to lay the first serial communicating vessels named Ivan Khurs on 14 November 2013.
