The ceremony of taking out from the covered SLIPWAYS and launching of missile ship “Dagestan” – the second from the series of 11661K project equipped with modern radiotechnical systems and armament took place at JSC Zelenodolsk Plant named after Gorky.
Within a few days “Dagestan” will pass the trials of vessel systems and equipment, as well as ship's life support system and damage control systems. Destroyer leaders of project 11661 are designed to fight with submarine, surface and air enemy when performing complex of tasks (escorting of ships, vessels and convoys, patrol duty, guarding of state boundary and marine economic zone) in the short-distance marine zone.
In May “Dagestan” shall depart to its duty station – to the Caspian fleet of the Russian NAVY.

At “Admiralty Yards” Sergey Buzlanov was appointed to be a new Deputy Director of Economics and Finance. Before joining the YARD Mr. Buzlanov worked as the Financial Director at the production holdings IG “Rost”, “Unimilk”, “Prodo”, “Talosto”, GC “Baltimor” and MR-Group. His main tasks at the new position will be realization of strategic projects, increasing economic effectiveness of the enterprise, as well as development and management of financial strategy of the enterprise. Before joining the yard, he passed pass practical training at Baltic Yard Yantar and at shipbuilding corporation STX (South Korea).
Currently Mikhail Alexandrov, previously held the position of the Chief Engineer of the yard, leads as the Acting Director General. The decision to appoint a new Director General will be taken at the extraordinary general meeting in August this year.

The Japanese side approached to “Rosatom” with a request to consider an issue about transfer of a special vessel with a unit for treatment of liquid radioactive wastes “Landysh” in the region of Fukushima-1 NPP. In due time the unit was created with on Japan’s money for treatment of liquid radioactive wastes from decommissioned Russian nuclear-power submarines, it can treat up to 70 tons of liquid radioactive wastes per day. The Japanese could use it for treatment of water, which became radioactive after cooling damaged reactors of Japanese NPP.
Today “Rosatom” is also sending 5000 masks and 400 radiation dosimeters by plane for employees of Fukushima-1 NPP to Japan.

Construction of a new ship repair and building yard in Azerbaijan will cost 450 million dollars, said the President of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan), Rovnag Abdullayev, upon reviewing the progress of works.
On the 10th of December, SOCAR, Azerbaijan Investment Company and Singapore Keppel Offshore and Marine signed a basic agreement on construction of a new ship repair and building yard in Baku. All TENDERs for selection of contractors were already held, and contracts will be signed within a month.
“Only SOCAR will require over 100 new vessels within the next 15 years”, - said R. Abdullayev. In addition, orders on building of vessels will be received both for the Caspian Sea Shipping Company and building of military vessels. “There will be a lot of orders only from Azerbaijan, and in fact for the first years the yard will operate for the country's needs. But we foresee to expand the yard, as the oil and gas recovery projects are also in a good progress in the Caspian countries. They need processing vessels, and we also intend to build such vessels at the yard. Production capacity of the enterprise will be 25,000 tons of metal structures per year. Annually the yard will produce four tankers with capacity 15 thousand tons, and four supply or tug vessels.

Execution of the State Arms Program before 2020 regarding construction of diesel-electric submarines for the Russian NAVY can be defeated because of big workload of “Admiralty Yards”, consider the representatives of the military-industrial complex.
In fact currently “Admiralty Yards” became a monopolist in production of non-nuclear submarines. If a contract for construction of “Mistral” type helicopter ships in Russia is concluded, “Admiralty Yards” can exactly be declared as a contractor of the order – on its new site in Kronshtadt.
Now 11 submarines, six – for Vietnam and five - within the framework of the state defence order are being built at “Admiralty Yards”. If new contracts for construction of submarines are signed with Venezuela and Indonesia, the problem of lack of slip places can occur.

In April, Khabarovsk yard will begin construction of three civil vessels at the cost of 200 million RUR, including two aerostatic crafts designed to maintain communications with hard-to-reach territories of the region. Private TRANSPORT COMPANIES are also ready to place orders for aerostatic crafts already this year.
Already this month, Regional State Unitary Enterprise “Khabarovskvodtrans” will sign a contract about placement of the order for construction of three river vessels: two aerostatic crafts with 30 and 50 places, as well as fast pleasure BOAT of А-45 project for 100 passengers. One vessel will stay in the Khabarovsk district, to provide communication, in particular, with settlements on the river Khor. Vessels, similar to the new pleasure boat, can replace the fleet of “Meteors”, which are already obsolete, in prospect.
Cost of three vessels is about 200 million RUR, term of construction — 12–18 months. Civil aerostatic crafts will be built according to the project, similar to the military landing craft “Murena”, which was long ago produced at Khabarovsk yard.

“Rosmorport”, “Sovcomflot” and Finnish company “Aker Arctic” concluded the contract about the project of innovative ICEBREAKER construction, which could operate in winter escort of oil tankers in the Gulf of Finland. Vessel of the of triangular shape will be able to move in both longitudinal and transverse directions changing the width of the channel. Capacity of diesel electric power plant will be 16 MW.
The designer of the vessel is Aker-Arctic, Krylov Shipbuilding Research Institute and CJSC Central Research Institute for Marine Fleet.

Reconstruction of JSC “Vyborg yard” shall be finished in November, 2011. The next stage of production modernization will be reconstruction of the sheet and profile area, which consists of several passages.
In 2008 the Board of Directors and stockholders of JSC “Vyborg yard” concluded that it was necessary to modernize the enterprise, term of realization of the program was planned to be three years. In November, 2008 the new line of sheet and profile cleaning was launched, which allows to process 35 thousand tons of metal (capacity of old processing line - 18 thousand tons) now was started at the enterprise.
The second step of modernization of the production was start in 2010 with the cleaning and painting booth for large-sized sections, which conditions allow cleaning and painting of structured with weight up to 270 tons. The feature of the painting booth is the fact that parameters of the process are set in advance and performed automatically, it excludes the influence of human factor, pointed out in the Press Office. New complex allows reducing time expenditures for cleaning and painting in three times. Now the whole process for sections takes not more than 3-5 days, for blocks - 7-10 days.

The President of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, signed the Federal Law of the Russian Federation dated 5 April, 2011 No.48-FZ “On Introducing Changes into Some Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation”, mitigating the mode of border crossing for fishing vessels. According to amendments, Russian vessels fishing in the exclusive economic zone and/or on RF SHELF (except for vessels havinga permission for multiple crossing of the state border), concerning which border control was carried out, and Russian vessels, concerning which border control was carried out, for overloading of aquatic biological resource catch and products from them in internal sea waters and in the territorial SEA of the Russian Federation can cross the state border without passing border, custom and other types of control based on a permission of the border authorities in cases, when unfavourable hydrometeorological conditions do not allow to carry out overloading aquatic biological resource catch, fish and other products from aquatic biological resources in the exclusive economic zone of the Russian Federation.
Permitting procedure for crossing the state border for overloading of aquatic biological resource catch in internal sea waters and in the territorial sea of the Russian Federation, list and border limits of overloading areas and control regime concerning specified Russian vessels is set by the Government of the Russian Federation.
In addition, Russian vessels carrying out FISHERY over the territory of the Russian Federation, concerning which border control was carried out, having a permission on crossing the state border or overloading of aquatic biological resource catch and products from them in the internal sea waters and in territorial sea, carry out overloading in the presence of an officer of the federal executive authority for security in areas of overloading, list and borders of which are set by the Government of the Russian Federation.
