The Pella Shipyard shall deliver two newest Raptor patrol boats to the Russian Navy

The Pella Shipyard in St. Petersburg shall deliver two newest Raptor patrol boats to the Russian Navy in April - May 2018. These are to complete the series of 14 boats built under the contract between the Pella Shipyard and the Russian Ministry of Defence.
This was announced yesterday by the Information and Mass Media Department of the Russian Ministry of Defence. The Raptor patrol boats are designed for open sea duty. They feature high maneuverability and effective – for the class – weapons to successfully accomplish their missions.
 
The Type 03160 boats are capable of delivering at least 20 troopers/marines with maximum speed of embarkation and landing, patrolling assigned areas in open seas, intercepting and arresting small targets, participating in search and rescue operations in the patrolled areas.

The Type 03160 boats are suitable for navigation in ice-free littoral areas, straits, and river mouths, day and night, at a maximum distance of 100 nm from a naval base.

Length overall is 16.9 m, max. beam is 4.1 m, draught is 0.9 m, crew is 3 in number. The boat speed is up to 50 knots.

Armor protection is made of amour plates of the 4th bullet resistance class. Portholes feature bullet-resistant glass 39 mm thick. Weapons: 1 x remotely-controlled 14.5 mm machine gun system with a gyrostabilised optronic module (target detection range: 3000 m, firing range: 2000 m); 2 x swivel mounted 7.62 mm 6P41 Pecheneg machine guns.
