Shipbuilding and shiprepair orders will be now placed abroad only upon the Russian Vice prime minister's consent. He announced this news at the conference of the heads of shipbuilding companies, as reports I-mash. "Each particular case will be treated individually. I shall personally check each contract. Being a person authorised to be responsible for shipbuilding (defence and civil) by the president, I will decide whether to permit signing this contract or not", noted Mr. Rogozin.

According to the Russian Navy Commander in Chief admiral Viktor Chirkov, it plans to get the first anaerobic propulsion system for submarines of type 677 Lada in 2 or 3 years, as reports i-mash Now, this propulsion system is being designed by Rubin Central Design Bureau. Krasnoye Sormovo Plant commenced trials of the tenth tanker of type RST27 launched on 23 April. The company specialists together with the customer's representatives will check the work of all the ship's systems and mechanisms, measure speed and maneuvering features as well as test the propulsion system. The tankers were designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau, Odessa and classed by the Russian Maritime Register as KM Ice1 R2 AUT1-ICS OMBO VCS ECO-S Oil tanker (ESP). The draft design was prepared by the Volga-Caspian Design Bureau, Nizhny Novgorod.

Neither of them eliminated the principal defect, noiseness. Besides, in whole, the modernisation cost is almost the same as the construction cost. Obsolete Shchuka submarines will have been disposed by 2015.

Week 15 (8 to 12 April)

Shipbuilders of Zvyozdochka Shiprepair Centre, Severodvinsk, will perform a full modernisation of six nuclear-powered attack submarines of type 971 of the third generation to the generation level 3+. As per the signed contract, Zvyozdochka will repair and modernise two serial ships, the Leopard lead submarine and the Volk. The Leopard is planned to be delivered at the end of 2014. The modernisation will be large-scale providing a new ship of type 971M. "Such a large scope of modernisation on board the nuclear submarine is the first experience for the shipyard in its post-Soviet history, as reports the press office. Modernised will be almost all the systems: navigation, sonar, weapon, main propulsion, turbines". In this case, the Severodvinsk shipyard will update not only submarines in the Northern Fleet, but also the Pacific Fleet ships.

By the order of the Ministry of Defence, ZNT Yard will build sixteen boats of the integrated search-and-rescue support within three years, as reports Novosti news agency. The first four ships will be handed over and delivered to Novorossiysk (Black Sea Fleet). Other three ships will be handed over to the Caspian Fleet and nine, to the Baltic Fleet (three for Kronstadt and six for Baltiysk).
