They laid a keel of a new river-sea chemical tanker named the MIDVOLGA-2 (6200 t capacity). The information source is the press-office of Mid-Volga Shipping Company. The tanker is planned to be handed over and put into operation in November 2014. The construction contract for two multipurpose chemical tankers was signed under the fleet renovation programme adopted a few years ago. In addition to the construction of five new multipurpose tankers, the contract provides for modernisation/renovation of the tankers in use.
On 24 March 2014, Almaz Shipbuilding Company launched the border patrol ship of Type 22460 (serial No. 505) built by the order of the Federal Border Guard Service of the Federal Security Service of Russia. The company plans to deliver the ship in October 2014. It is almost a year earlier than the state contract period. The border patrol ship was designed by Severnoye Design Bureau. She is intended for protection of the state border, territorial sea as well as for fight against terrorism and piracy.

Moscow Shipbuilding and Shiprepair Yard together with subcontractors from Zhigalovo arranged transportation of the blocks of buoyage vessel of Type 3052 (serial No. 373) to Irkutsk for further completion. The buoyage vessel of Type 3052 is to be launched in September this year. In November, she is to be delivered to the Administration of Baikal-Angara Basin.

On 26 March 2014 Moscow Shipbuilding and Shiprepair Yard held a solemn keel-laying ceremony of buoyage vessel of Type 3052 (serial No. 277) built for the Administration of Volga Basin.

Pella Leningrad Shipyard launched a tugboat of Type PE-65 (serial No. 505), construction programme 2014. Within the year, the vessel will be delivered to the state customer, the Russian Navy. Then it will be included into the Northern Fleet of Russia.

Admiralty Shipyard resumed the construction contract for the diesel-electric submarine of Type 677 Lada named the Sevastopol built for the Russian Navy. According to the head of the company Alexander Buzakov, the Sevastopol will be completed in a year after delivering the same type submarine Kronshtadt, which is planned to be put into service by the Navy in 2017.

On 24 March 2014, under the state defence order, Yaroslavl Shipyard and the Russian Ministry of Defence signed the state contract for construction and supply of two seagoing tugs for the Russian Navy. The specified contract stipulates that the Yaroslavl shipbuilders will deliver one tug in 2016 and the other in 2017.

During 2014, the Russian Navy will get more than forty new surface ships and submarines. Of great importance will be developing the basing infrastructure depending on the new ships delivered. It concerns mainly submarine bases of the Northern Fleet, Gadzhievo; the Pacific Fleet, Vilyuchinsk; the Black Sea Fleet, Novorossiysk. In 2014, the Russian Navy is expected to accept frigates of Type 11356, small missile ships of Type 21631, counter-terror boats of Type 21980 and the Igor Belousov rescue vessel. Shipbuilding companies plan to lay keels of several new support ships, including the icebreaker of Type 21180 and the self-propelled floating crane of Type 02690.
