The Moscow Arbitration Court began to review in private the claim of the Bank of Russia related to a loan issued by the Central Bank to MezhPromBank of ex-senator Sergey Pugachev. During the visit of the RF Minister of Industry and Trade, Victor Khristenko, in Helsinki on December 8th, Russia ordered Finland to build a multipurpose icebreaker worth 76 mln. Euros. It is planned that the icebreaker hull will be built in Kaliningrad, and in Archtech Helsinki Shipyard will complete the ship.

At the session of the St. Petersburg government the project on construction of a shipyard in Kronstadt was approved. Within the framework of the project a modern enterprise based on Admiralty Shipyard will be built on the island of Kotlin. It is planned that the city will participate in the creation of social, transport and engineering infrastructure of the territory of the future enterprise.

Northern (Arctic) Federal University and the United Shipbuilding Corporation have signed an agreement on program implementation to create the Institute of Shipbuilding and Arctic Marine equipment based on SevMashVTUZ, which should enter into the Northern (Arctic) Federal University by May 2012. Under the agreement, the United Shipbuilding Corporation will create three training classes for shipbuilding disciplines.

A solemn flag-raising ceremony on a self-contained deep-operating vehicle “Consul” took place in “Ship-Repairing Center “Zvezdochka”. The vehicle was incorporated to the fleet in November. The project was developed by JSC Saint-Petersburg Marine Mechanical Engineering Bureau “Malachite”, built by JSC “Admiralty Shipyards”. The length of the vehicle is 8.4 m, width and height – 3.9 m, weight - 26 tons, crew - 2-3 persons, self-sustaining period - 12 hours, and speed - 3 knots.

An ice-class tanker with deadweight of 3,100 tons was laid at JSC “DVZ “Zvezda”. Designer is DB “Vympel”. Length - 88.9 m, depth - 7.9 m, ice class - Arc4, endurance - about 4,000 miles. The vessel is being built for JSC “OC “Rosneft”. The vessel is planned to be handed over to the customer in August 2013.
