A nuclear-powered submarine “Nerpa” officially jointed the Indian Navy. According to the contract, nuclear-powered submarine “Nerpa” will form a part of the Indian Navy for ten years. The contract value is more than $900 mln. Nuclear-powered submarine “Nerpa” of 971 project belongs to the third generation of submarines. Deadweight – 8,140/12,770 tons, maximum speed ̶ 30 knots, depth ̶ 600 meters, endurance ̶ 100 days, and crew ̶ 73 persons.
Kaliningrad company JSC “Gidrostroy”, offered to design a shipyard for 120 mln. RUR, at maximum tender price 250 mln. RUR, became the General Design Contractor of “Zapadnaya Verf” in Vzmorye. The design stage has already been started. The Subcontractor will engage designers form Spain and Germany. “Zapadnaya Verf” will yet have to build up about 6 ̶ 7 ha of shore, as “Sodruzhestvo” and “Lukoil” did, when they were started operation of their terminals.
