TASS reports with reference to the message of the official site of the Kremlin, that Vladimir Putin charged the government together with Rosneft to handle an issue of ensuring requirement of the ship-building complex Zvezda with the large-format steel sheet produced in Russia. It is said in the statement posted on the Kremlin website.
"The Government of the Russian Federation together with the public joint stock company Rosneft Oil Company taking into account earlier instructions are to handle an issue of ensuring requirement of the ship-building complex Zvezda with the large-format steel sheet produced in the territory of the Russian Federation, with a special attention to the terms of the beginning of construction of heavy-tonnage vessels and marine facilities, - it is told in the assignment.
Reporting on performance of an assignment to the prime minister Dmitry Medvedev and the head of Rosneft Sechin is to be done till November 1 of this year.
In 2016 the Rosneft and UMMC have agreed about creation joint the East Mining and Metallurgical Company enterprise for production of steel for the ship-building complex Zvezda. The joint venture will become the anchor supplier of a large-format steel sheet for ensuring long-term requirements of the ship-building complex Zvezda. Development of mining and metallurgical productions in the east of Russia, proceeding from economic efficiency of projects will also become a task of the joint venture.
UMMC will act as the controlling shareholder of the project with 75% share in the capital of the joint venture. Rosneft, being as well the shareholder of the ship-building complex Zvezda, will receive 25% share in the created joint venture.
Project Zvezda
On the basis of the Zvezda plant in the Bolshoi Kamen since 2009 the Russia's first shipyard of the processings up to 330,000 tons of steel large-capacity shipbuilding in a year is created, on the basis of the project the territory of the advancing development "Bolshoi Kamen" is started. In the next years the shipyard of civil shipbuilding, largest in Russia, capable to release the whole line of average and heavy-tonnage vessels and the marine facilities including tankers, gas carriers, elements of drilling platforms, vessels of supply and seismic exploration has to appear here.
