As TASS reports with reference to the Kommersant newspaper, Vladimir Putin approved the government's idea to transfer functions on control of the Northern Sea Route (NSR) to Rosatom and guaranteed to develop necessary corrections to the Federal Law and other acts "within the shortest possible time".
In particular, the state corporation will be responsible for navigation, ports and power engineering of NSR. Besides, Rosatom can receive a part of the assets subordinated to Ministry of Transport, - for example, port infrastructure of the Arctic and Rosmorport's ice breakers and also Federal state institution "Administration of NSR" which is responsible for navigation, Kommersant writes.

Initially there were two options. The first option is creating "the Arctic division" in structure of Rosatom. Sources of Kommersant says that the Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin and the CEO of Rosatom Alexey Likhachev voted for it.

The second option is the federal agency. It was offered by the Assistant of the President Andrey Belousov. At the same time, according to sources of Kommersant, the offer about the agency was provided to the president at the end of October and also was approved. But what functions will remain behind such agency during creation of the infrastructure operator represented by Rosatom, interlocutors of Kommersant did not explain.

The Ministry of Transport voted sharply against the "Rogozin-Likhachev's option". The Deputy Minister of Transport, the head of Rosmorrechflot Victor Olersky told Kommersant that the order of the president assumes a "detailed procedure", and after his bringing to authorities Ministry of Transport will prepare its offers.
