The meeting on creation of Ak Bars shipbuilding corporation took place in Tatarstan, according to the press-office of the
Gorky Zelenodolsk Shipbuilding Plant, which shall become a part of the future corporation.
"We are reviewing expected benefits from consolidation and creation of a united corporation. We see its operations in four fields: designing, shipbuilding, marine equipment, and ship repair and servicing. The corporation shall become a solution for
the strategic goal of increasing civil shipbuilding share to 30%. At present, it is only the third part of the target value,@ said Renat Mistakhov, the Director General of Gorky Zelenodolsk Shipbuilding Plant.
The shipbuilding corporation is expected to have a 100B ruble turnover and triple growth of production by 2025.
According to TASS, the corporation would include Gorky Zelenodolsk Shipbuilding Plant, Zelenodolsk Design Bureau, Kazan Elektropribor Factory (manufacturer of optical and electronic equipment), Volgatatsudremont (ship repairer), Ak Bars Metal
(manufacturer of metal structures) and Adria Winch Zelenodolsk (designer and manufacturer of high-tech equipment for shipbuilding, wood and mining industries).
Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan has a favorable view of the company management's initiative and noticed the importance of civil shipbuilding development.
