Repair of the Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier will begin in 2018, the volume of repair work will depend on balance of the state arms program. The head of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) Alexey Rakhmanov reported about it at the forum in St. Petersburg "Arctic: the present and the future".
"(Repair - a comment by TASS) will definetely begin in 2018. The only question is what the volume will be. It will depend on balance of indicators of the state arms program, and further - a question to the military", he said.
Earlier the deputy commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy for arms vice admiral Victor Bursuk told that repair of the aircraft carrier will begin next year and will be carried out by the enterprises located in a zone of responsibility of the Northern Fleet. He emphasized that "it will be unambiguous the USC enterprise", but at the same time didn't mention the price of work.
In turn TASS learnt that repair of "Admiral Kuznetsov" will be carried out at the 35th ship-repair plant in Roslyakovo near Murmansk which is a branch of the Center of ship repair "Zvezdochka". Besides, earlier the CEO of the Nevsky Design Bureau Sergey Vlasov said in an interview for TASS that the aircraft carrier will be repaired without any modernization.
