“Maprom Engineering BV has been working on the Russian market for 30 years already. Our Russian customers are satisfied with the performance of our equipment, and prefer to apply our systems on new ships. About 50 vessels have been built in Russia since 2000, applying stern tube water lubrication and cooling systems, supplied by Maprom. The new Russian ships with Maprom equipment are the projects “Valday” 01010 and “Rusich” 00101, RSD-49, tankers of the projects 00210, 00211, 00260 and 52, tugs 745 MB, and others.

The North-Western Shipping Company states that our “really successful and fruitful cooperation has been continuing for 20 years already, and during this time three series of ships have been built, numerous ships of two types were retrofitted with Maprom seals, 5 mutual projects were successfully accomplished working together”. The Russian shipping company “SOLID SC LTD.” has started the construction of a new series of ships, having chosen the stern tube equipment of Maprom on the basis of 15 years of successful operational experience of our stern tube systems on the ships built and owned by the N-W Sh. Co. Another customer, “Atomflot” – the operator of nuclear-powered icebreakers, states that they are cooperating with Maprom for more than 12 years already, and the time proves the positive results of Maprom equipment operation under extreme conditions on the nuclear-powered icebreaker “Taimyr”. “Taimyr” is distinguished by the most heavy-duty operation among Russian icebreakers, and the results prove that Maprom equipment is really high-quality and high-reliability, also being most efficient and easy from the viewpoint of operation.
The stern tube water-lubricated Maprom rubber bearings demonstrate the record achievement of over 240,000 running hours – more than 30 years in operation on the push boat, without wear necessitating replacement! The stern tube water-lubricated Maprom rubber seals achieved 70,000 running hours, still not requiring replacement. These stern tube water-lubricated systems were designed by Maprom engineers. Reliability of Maprom stern tube water-lubricated equipment has been recognized by the leading classification societies: BV, Lloyd and RMRS permit to extend propeller shaft inspection period of Maprom closed stern tube systems to 15 years without propeller shaft removal.

Besides the water lubricated stern tube systems Maprom also is able to supply specialized heavy duty fender solutions for both push knee and corner fenders for i.e. push boat applications.
