S7 Space Transport Systems intents to depreserve the Odyssey floating platform in May-June 2018.
The Odyssey floating platform, which is to be used for the first launch of the Sea Launch Project, as well as the command ship are to be depreserved in May-June this year. This was reported by Sergei Sopov, the CEO of S7 Space Transport Systems company (affiliate of S7 Group, which bought the Sea Launch Project in 2016), according to
TASS.
"The depreservation is to be performed in May-June this year. The ships and equipment shall be inspected. The command ship shall be inspected in dry dock in Canada, in particular, the shell plates shall be replaced," said Sopov.
According to him, the floating platform shall be maintained in Norway prior to operation.
